I can't bank on three full seasons at Manchester United - the United boss

the United manager

The Manchester United coach - pictured getting support following May's continental cup disappointment - says he is pleased by Sir Jim Ratcliffe's continued commitment but emphasized that the future is unpredictable in soccer.

United's manager Ruben Amorim thinks it is important Sir Jim Ratcliffe publicly shared his future vision - but states nothing is guaranteed about tomorrow in football, let alone three years.

During a discussion with a major publication in recent days, Sir Jim stated it might require the head coach a three-year period to create substantial change at Old Trafford.

Coming in a period when the coach's tenure has been facing examination following an extended sequence of disappointing results, the comments helped quell certain present tensions.

But, speaking before the 100th meeting with traditional foes the Reds at their home ground, Amorim emphasized how tomorrow is difficult to forecast in soccer.

"It's certainly beneficial to hear it but he communicates to me all the time, occasionally through communication post fixtures - but recognize, I know and Ratcliffe understands, that football is not like that," he said.

"The crucial element is the following fixture. Despite having backers, you cannot manage tomorrow in soccer."

CEO Omar Berrada has admitted it has taken much more time for the manager to adjust to the Premier League following his move from his former club last November than anyone imagined.

The Red Devils have secured 10 times in 34 top-flight fixtures during Amorim's tenure. They still haven't achieved consecutive league victories and didn't complete a round of league games during this campaign above ninth position.

The concerning numbers are challenging confidence in Amorim among the United fanbase heading into a run of games their club has been awful in for the previous two campaigns.

The manager stated he isn't experiencing the instability internally at the club's Carrington training ground and is firm nothing can match the expectation he places on the squad - and to some extent, he would rather Ratcliffe to refrain from seeking to bring a sense of calm because he fears the influence it may create on the squad.

"It isn't merely something people discuss, I feel it each day," he stated. "It's truly positive to listen to it because it benefits our followers to grasp the leadership know it is going to take a period.

"Yet concurrently, I'm not fond of it because it creates an impression that we possess time to work things out. I don't want that sense in our team.

"The expectation I apply to the squad or upon myself is so much bigger [compared to external sources]. In soccer, specifically at large organizations, you need to prove your worth every weekend."
